Barça Set to Play Inaugural Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday
Barça revealed they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host the Bilbao team in domestic competition over two years following their departure so building work could begin.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team along with upgraded changing facilities.
Preparatory Events
Barça organized a public practice inside the stadium on 7 November. The club said they were hoping for permission by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side on 9 December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
